Gingerbread Houses

Friday, December 7

So last night the kids made gingerbread houses with Sue. Sue is a very experienced gingerbread constructor. She had been the contractor for a few houses in the past years. She came prepared with a blueprint for our design, which is shown above. So lets note we realized early on that we were going to deviate from the plan. Sue went shopping and brought all the supplies.

Hannah Grace checks out all the supplies.

Building starts. Although it went something like this... one candy corn for the house and four for me. Whoops. Needless to say Hannah was up singing very late and Carter just got slap happy.

Sarah Jane spent most the evening hanging out with her Dad.

Sarah Jane and Allison hanging with the Dads.

What happened to snowman #3??

Carter Happened! Ha Ha Ha.

roof construction.

Chris and Carter take over the building when the girls went to play.

Our Final Projects!

Thank you so much Chris, Sue, and Allison. We had so much fun and can't wait to do this again next year! Click below to see even more photos of our fun night!

They look great. Everytime we make one I'm amazed how at complicated they can be. If the frosting is not exactly right, then it's all over!

We had a wonderful time. Next year, you can feed Allison all of the candy corn she can hold!!

Cute houses! I think we'll wait until next year to start this tradition :-) I can just see a reinactment of the parade..."CANDY! CANDY!"
